In "Over and" we are considering the great acceleration and where this speeding up leading us as part of  a planet wide ecosystem striving to maintain homeostasis... dancing the extinction ... drowning in warm waters. The Secret of Hiding

"The Secret of Hiding" was made in 2017 in collaboration with artist Alisha B Wormsley, with original sound by Ricardo Iamuuri Robinson featuring vocals by Li Harris and Alisha. In this work we explore what is seen and unseen, elevating, portals, sacred geometry, overlapping time and womxn-ness in all its forms. This work was presented by The Kelly Strayhdorn Theater's New Moves.

Knuckle Press

Knuckle Press premiered in June 2015 as part of the Kelly Strayhorn's New Moves Dance Festival. This miniature duet is an investigation of how discrete movements can be sustained in an evolving relationship. Or what happens when Julia Child holds a secular tea ceremony with her twin brother Julio. Performance by Dave Bernabo and me, sound by Dave Bernabo, photography Ivette Spradlin.

WaywardLand

A new work in collaboration with Ben Sota, This work express a deep yearning to be. A yearning to be human and to feel the species nature that is often lost in our culture. We use dance, circus apparatus and physical theater techniques to create an ensemble from performers with varied backgrounds, in this way embracing diversity and celebrating the power of union. With dancers Anna Thompson and Taylor Knight, visual artist Blaine Siegel, sound design David Bernabo, and costumes Casey Droege, photography Nicole Jarock.

imaginary is also real
ongoing
research/video/performance

imaginary is also real was initiated in 2011 by my collaborater Emily Sweeney.  The work has lived in our bodies, minds, on our computers and in our writing.  A video excerpt of imaginary is also real has been screened in Brooklyn and Philadelphia.  The first live performance to spiral out of this work was absence presence.

presence absence
staging/interpreting/performance
Sept 2013

Presence absence is a video score that Emily Sweeney created for my performance at Light Lab 2 in Pittsburgh.  She sent me a video and written instructions. I created the live piece from Emily's score. The video was projected in the space creating a duet across space and time between Emily's "trace" in the video and me the live dancer.
